    John and Ottavia Krontiras bought Nabeel's in 1993, fueled by the desire to create a neighborhood place in America like they had in their hometowns of Patras in southern Greece and Trieste in northern Italy. The couple transformed the spot and began serving authentic Greek, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Today the restaurant is known for its Camel Rider sandwich, moussaka and the adjoining international market that carries everything from Greek feta to fresh phyllo, Turkish pine nuts and Russian sausages.
